Who Are We and Who Needs Us?

TaxRxCenter (TaxRx) (formerly Tax Resolution Help Center Company (TRHC)) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization incorporated in the State of Kansas. The EIN is 85-3489731. The organization was created by Kelly Coughlin, CPA, CEO, EveryDayCPA, Inc., for the purpose of addressing the needs and financial capabilities of families with tax liabilities. TRxC wants to relieve the stress caused by tax balances by empowering taxpayers to get the IRS and state tax agencies off their backs THEMSELVES and enjoy happier, healthier lives.

Here are our answers to a few of those questions. If you want to know more, we encourage you to send your questions to visit our support dept. in the lower right corner of this site.

1. Who needs this organization?

Most taxpayers with past due tax balances need help. Fewer than 20% of taxpayers elect to deal with their tax liabilities themselves, and a scant 10% elect to hire a professional; leaving a jaw-dropping 70% that do nothing, and who can suffer enormous emotional and financial stress. Most taxpayers are untrained and unskilled in the strategies and tactics required to successfully negotiate and resolve past tax liabilities. Further, those who elect to hire a professional can overpay for services or encounter unskilled or unscrupulous “experts,” seeking to take advantage of desperate taxpayers facing wage garnishment, tax liens on residences or seizure of other assets.

2. What is the mission of TaxRx?

Our non-profit mission is to help taxpayers reduce, remove and resolve their past tax liabilities THEMSELVES by offering them unlimited access to in-person webinars, virtual open-office sessions, written articles and podcasts. Our content is produced by a network of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), IRS Enrolled Agents and tax attorneys who want to pay-it-forward by providing education, information and guidance to help taxpayers resolve their tax debt THEMSELVES. For those taxpayers who want more, our for-profit enterprise offers options of either one-on-one assistance for a transparent hourly rate or a full-service engagement at a mutually negotiated fee.

3. Why is there a need for this organization?

Approximately 25 million people owe the IRS over $83 billion in back taxes.

Between January 1, 2017 and June 30, 2019 alone, nearly one million federal and state tax liens were filed against taxpayers in all 50 states, representing claims on nearly $129 billion in taxpayer assets. Unpaid taxes and the stress they can cause individuals, families and businesses is enormous and is getting worse.

Preventing and anticipating tax issues is the best way for taxpayers to avoid problems with the IRS and state revenue agencies. However, life happens and sometimes taxes simply cannot be paid. Facing these issues and dealing with them directly and effectively is the next best approach. Unfortunately, 70% of taxpayers with past tax liabilities don’t confront their problems. Left unresolved by taxpayers, IRS and state agencies may resolve tax balances through wage garnishment, asset seizure, and property liens. These tactics can further increase stress. TaxRx believes knowledge is power and is here to empower taxpayers to implement a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) approach to tax balance resolution in their own lives.
